Editing  Process

We began our whole editing process by uploading our raw footage on to our editing software iMovie. We then began editing by highlighting what we wanted and dragging it into the film bar.

After figuring out which parts made sense and flowed properly, we decided after our first editing session that we needed a larger variety of shots and a bolder storyline. After coming back from shooting we made sure that we had a variety of angles so that it engaged the audience properly. We then uploaded our raw footage once again and we then edited the visuals, because we did not like how balanced the camerawork was. We stabilised the shots by normalising individual shots. This also allowed us to crop shots, which we thought were now irrelevant.

After this we then adapted the sound in certain parts of the film, we felt it necessary to cut the sound out and to talk over the shots itself. We used this for the shot where lance (our actor who was also the murderer) said not again. This didn't sound believable so we done it again and made it seem like it was in his mind. This improved the shot immediately because it made it a bit clearer about what was happening.

After this we began to include and create the titles. This began by going onto another editing and creating software LiveType and creating our heading titles. On this we made animated heading titles which said the producing company, the actors, the film director and many others. We also created an animated shot where the title of the film itself would come up.

Overall the editing process for the production of the film itself was very successful.

In our production, we had a problem with wind as all of our production was filmed outside. This made it hard for us to hear what the actors were saying when we listened to the raw footage. Here, we have Lance and Ethan doing voiceovers so that we could add it to make what they were saying more clear.
