Script

The establishing shot set at night connotes the idea to the audience that something bad is going to happen due to the darkness all around, thus setting a serious mood

The killer clenching their hand in a 'strangling' motion signifies that something is not right with the character, as if he is thinking of hurting someone. This perceives to the audience that the character is possibly involved in something that could be very sinister

With only the friend talking and not the killer, it reinforces the idea that there is something on the killer's mind. This gets the audience to focus more on the killer and try to figure out what is wrong with him

The filming of people walking past sets the scene and shows the audience that the setting is in a urban city. This suggests to the audience that the characters and the situation that is going to happen to them could also happen to them as well.

The Killer's twitching eyes add to the signs of the unease of the killer

Where it talks about the killer's hand motion, there will be a close up shot of the killer's hands so that the audience are forced to focus on them and acknowlegde the tense feeling that the character is enduring

The action of the killer stepping in the puddle connotes the idea of the character distrupting something quite peaceful and innocent. The sound of the splash will be more louder to emphasis the distruction

The pace of editing will become more quicker as the killer runs away to convey the frantic nature of the character and his eagerness to get away and sort out this issue that has been consuming his thoughts the whole time

The Friend's voice will start to fade out as if the audience is hearing everything from the killer's perspective and clearly signifying that the killer is no longer listening to his friend as his mind is focused on something more important

After the sound of the splashing of the puddle, the opening music will start to fade out to signify to the audience that the characters are about to start talking

Above is our original script that we produced. However, when we filmed, various reasons caused us to alter the script slightly. The next two pages are our more updated script.

The camera focusing on the Empire sign links in with the idea of the killer having diffultly differentiating the difference between fiction (Hollywood films) and reality. Also, it sets the scene, letting the audience know the location of the first scene.

The characters walking out the cinema and going home together creates a mood of normality as going to the cinema with friends is what teenagers do. This makes the audience get to know the characters more.

The friend's clear love for gory thrillers makes the audience create perceptions of the character as being quite violent and cruel. The audience would then go on to believe that it is him that would be capable of committing something brutal. The audience are still unaware of that one of the teenage boys is a killer.

Despite creating the idea that the friend is a violent person from what they are saying, it is the killer who is the first to act quite violent. This is done to shock the audience.

The short responses of the killer shows that he is not really focusing on his friend or what is going on around him. There is something clearly on his mind.

From the start of the film up until this point, there will be non-diegetic music. At this point, it will start to fade out as a signal that the dialogue is starting. The music will be quite dark and slow, creating gloomy atmosphere.

The character's walking will stop here, with the camera stopping behind them as well. This will seem as if the audience are walking with the characters.

The camera focusing on the light then panning down to the entrance of the bridge the characters are walking sets the scene.

The camera will focus on the street signs, that shows 'Keep Out'. This acts as an omen to the characters that they shouls stay away from the area as it could possibly be dangerous

The streetlamp will be blocked by the killer, emphasisng the killer's silhouette. This portrays the idea that he is blocking out all good.

The camera will be from the friend's point of view who will be on the ground, looking up at the killer. This angle will signify the killer has the power.
